Here’s the problem that we’re currently facing in today’s footy landscape…
→ Most junior rugby league players are lacking in confidence because of the lack of development. Development as a rugby league player, development as an athlete and development as a person.
→ Most youth athletes are not training fitness, speed, agility, sprint mechanics, jumps, landing, body workouts etc. This makes them less likely to compete against strong athletic kids. This keeps them on the bench and potentially on the sideline due to injury or the lack of fitness to play the full game.
→ Junior rugby league players have not developed their skills in passing, catching, tackling, defending, draw and pass etc because club trainings were bull rush or touch. So they lack that confidence to compete.
→ The fear of failure, the negative self talk, the nerves before the game, poor body language etc is what the youth of today struggle with and this stems on to other parts of their life.
→ Accessory and extra work are being provided to athletes, but there’s no accountability or even worse, they’re being done in an incorrect manner resulting in injuries that could take months to recover.
