You have fast runners on the timing gates or stop watch but it's just not showing in the game of rugby league. Why? Because speed in sports is a mixture of everything from your fitness, repeated speed efforts, top speed, acceleration, change of direction and agility on offence or defence etc.
What athletes need to do is:
1. Develop the right movement pattern to be efficient and effective
2. Develop the speed to run fast
3. Improving reaction times and the right response on attack or defence.
4. Get stronger and more explosive
5. Condition these new patterns and reaction into your game through conditioning games.
