The game plan is to work on:
1. Individual tackles focusing on the 4 levels for tackling. Know every little detail on pre-tackle, contact and finisher.
2. Details such as where your feet are, your head, your arms and cues to react to for better decisions on making the right tackle.
3. Learning how to tackle in groups to be effective and keeping our team mates safe whilst winning the tackle.
The above details will be heavily focused on in Tackle Domination on the mats.
On the field:
We still go over the individual tackles and group tackles to prime them up for defensive systems. The field is heavily emphasised on how to defend the ruck, marker defence, edge defence, try line defence, redzone defence and how to communicate to make sure we defend well as a team.
We have worked with over 10,000 athletes and know how to communicate and break the tackle down, so athletes can digest the information we coach. The tackle is broken down into 3 components:
1. Pre-tackle - What you do before the contact. Line speed, footwork and agility.
2. Contact - How to make contact using the shoulders, arms, legs etc
3. The finisher - How to finish off the opposition in an ideal fashion which helps the team win the contest.
The athlete will leave the workshop having learnt so much about tackling and have fixed up their tackle technique to get recognised by friends, family, coaches and scouts.
